For Essay, we’re each assigned a town to cover all quarter, looking specifically into the history of the town and it’s current community. I have Jacksonville, Ohio, a town of 0.3 square miles and approximately 500 rather hopeless* residents.
*as in seeming to hold no hope for their prosperity or that of their community, to quote one business owner: “we used to live off of hope but we ate it all up and now we’re livin’ off nothing.”
the first pic is great in terms of the kid in the back cuz let’s face it: even if your future is hopeless, you don’t realize that until you are at least of working age.
