Oh boy, this was a tough one. It’s too easy, as an editor, to become super critical of footage that comes in from someone you’ve never met. In this case, I knew that the event this production company had been hired to film was rescheduled several times and ended up being help in a school auditorium instead of outside as planned.
That being said, I can’t help but wonder if there was anything the crew could have done to mitigate the painful gym lights and endless echoes and background noise. Probably not, and the footage is thoughtful and framed well.
So don’t judge me on my color correction, I tried. The story arc will have to carry us through on this one.
